COBA started activity in Mozambique just after its establishment in 1962, having, along the years, participated in important studies associated with water storage, irrigation and flood control infrastructures, in the planning of water resources, in transportation infrastructures, in hydropower generation and electric power transmission lines.

In addition to the numerous studies and designs undertaken in the decades 70 and 80, presented further on, emphasis is now placed on the works awarded during the last years, that were / are being executed by consortia including national and in some cases foreign firms.

• Rural Road Rehabilitation of Road ER 405 from the Maputo Border to Chokwé, over a length of some 30 km, financed by the World Bank. Client: ANE-Administração Nacional de Estradas.
• Massingir Dam and Smallholder Agricultural Rehabilitation Project. Xai-Xai Irrigation and Drainage Perimeter, financed by the African Development Bank. Client: ARA-SUL / DNA (Water Directorate). Consortium led by COBA
• Pequenos Libombos, Corumana, Massingir and Macarretane dams inspection. Expertise Mission. Client: Carl Bro, S.A. (ARA-SUL).
• Technical Assistance to the municipalities of Maputo, Beira, Quelimane, Nampula and Pemba, for the preparation of infrastructure investment programs, preparation of designs and tender documents for specific sub-projects, supervision of contractors and suppliers, financial management, and training. The contract was signed with the Ministry of State Administration and is financed by the World Bank. Consortium led by COBA.
• Supervision of housing construction at Vila Sol. Undertaken for ANE (Road Directorate).
• Diversion Weir at the Incomati River. Detailed Design. Technical assistance to the Mozambican consulting engineers Técnica for the hydraulics and hydromechanical equipment components. The Owner is DNA (Water Directorate).
• Technical Assistance to the Government of Mozambique for the Flood Recovery Programme (Chokwé and Xai-Xai), in the province of Gaza. Contract signed with the European Union. Local authorities involved: ANE (Road Directorate), DNA (Water Directorate) and Municipal Councils. Consortium led by COBA.

• Evaluation of the Potential Development and Hydraulic Resources Development of the Buzi River Catchment Area (30 000 km2)
