- 28th June 1962 - establishment of COBA by a group of internationally renown Portuguese experts on arch dams, led by Professor Joaquim Laginha Serafim
- First contracts in Portugal, Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain and Greece
- Foundation of two engineering consultancy firms in Brazil - COBA, SA and ERN, SA
- Foundation of the engineering consultancy firm CONSULPRESA, in Spain
- First steps for a lasting collaboration in Angola and Mozambique
- 24th July 1969 - Change into a joint-stock company
- First large contract in water supply "Strengthening of the Water Supply System to the Greater Lisbon"
DECADE 70
- Intensification of activity in roads and agricultural sectors
- Start of activity in the sanitation area
- Acquisition of the first premises in Lisbon
- First contracts in the Algerian market
DECADE 80
- Acquisition of COBA Building, in Lisbon, where the company has its head office
- Election of a new Board of Directors led by Doctor Ricardo Oliveira, under proposal of the company's founders
- Development of rail and environmental sectors
- Large international activity in Angola, Algeria and Mozambique
DECADE 90
- First contracts in Morocco and extension of activity to numerous African and Latino-American countries
- Vasco da Gama Bridge - an outstanding project in COBA's life
- Increase of activity for private clients, as a result of large number of "design-bulid" projects
- Participation in highway and associated road concessions under DBFO
- Cartography and Cadastre - a new area in COBA
- Re-start of regular activity in Brazil in the sectors of dams, water resources, agriculture and transportation
YEARS 2000
- COBA consolidate their leading position in the national Engineering Consultancy Market and enlarges its activity to more countries, in some cases as consulting engineers of Portuguese groups involved in project concessions.
- Extension of COBA Group that, at present, includes a dozen of companies in Portugal and in foreign countries.
